Beth Alton

Elizabeth (Beth) Alton has over 20 years experience as an organization development expert and as a human resources executive. Beth has extensive experience working in the non-profit and bio-research sectors.

Prior to joining Wolf Management Consultants, LLC, Beth spent 18 years at a world renowned research institute where she served as Vice President, Human Resources and led a team of internal business partners who served 1300 faculty and staff. This setting allowed Beth to gain invaluable experience in strategic planning, corporate governance, line management and working with many brilliant scientific minds.

Most recently, Beth has launched a career as a management consultant and has successfully partnered with a variety of for and not-for-profit clients. As a consultant Beth has:

  • Facilitated leadership assessment and development plans
  • Effectively coached executives to support them with issues such as: organization transition, goal mapping, team effectiveness and professional relationship building
  • Facilitated board retreats and strategic planning exercises
  • Developed and delivered compliance training, including sex harassment training
  • Developed corporate policies and governance charters
  • Conducted Human Resources audits and developed action plans

Beth has a unique capacity to quickly understand a client’s needs and organization culture and to develop programs and strategies that are customized to each situation.

Beth has a BS degree in Liberal Studies and has received mediation certification by the American Arbitration Association and Lifeline Community Services. Mediation is an incredibly effective tool for resolving conflict and disputes both in and outside of the workplace. She has also received advanced training on non-profit board governance.

  • Worked with a CEO to develop and re-engage board of directors and develop an updated vision and mission for research institute.
  • Facilitated team retreat for a membership association that included team assessment and leadership development program: outcome was development of a 6 month action plan and team accountability model.
  • Worked with a cancer research center on development of a successful acquisition which resulted in the preservation of jobs and research grants.
  • Worked with research organization to re-organize administrative functions to deliver more efficient service and cut costs.
  • Working with an executive team to assess strengths and competencies and develop team goals and group accountabilities.
  • This resulted in a team learning how to hold one another accountable for results.
