“If you cannot explain what you’re doing in
terms of process, you don’t know what you’re doing.” -
W. Edwards Deming
Technical people have difficulties explaining their work to
people in sales and marketing or finance, and vice versa.
The reason why you would create a presentation is because you
propose change and want to convince others of your opinion or
want to call them to action.
Therefore, in order to obtain executive sponsorship -delegation
of authority and allocation of resources- your presentation needs
to show a real need, a viable solution, a proper justification
and specific benefits (WIIFM) to the decision-maker.
Are you capable of making complex concepts simple while eliminating
all unnecessary and confusing information and rendering these
concepts in visibly pleasing images, in a consistent and interactive
format?
