T. BERGER, MBA
James Berger is a strategic marketing and finance specialist. He
provides the unique combination of the experienced practitioner
and the academician.
Jim develops and implements marketing programs for clients operating
in a variety of industries and specialties including banking and
finance, commercial real estate and professional services. He also
consults with clients on strategic marketing issues and directions
and creates written marketing and business plans.
On the academic side, Jim is a Lecturer at Northwestern University's
School of Continuing Studies where he teaches courses in Principles
of Marketing, Introduction to Public Relations, Integrated Marketing
Communicates and Strategic Marketing. In addition, he has taught
courses in financial management and financial institutions. He also
is a faculty member at Roosevelt University where he teaches graduate
and undergraduate courses in Marketing in Theory and Practice, Personal
Selling and Sales Management and Principles of Advertising, Consumer
Behavior and International Marketing Analysis. He also has taught
courses at Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management,
DePaul University, the University of Illinois at Chicago and The
Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, he has an M.S. Degree
in Journalism from Northwestern's Medill School and an MBA Degree
from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with
concentrations in marketing and finance.
Jim began his career working for a metropolitan Chicago daily newspaper.
He has worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Co., now SBC, as well
as advertising and public relations agencies before going into his
own business.
He is also a frequently published magazine writer where he regularly
contributes to more than a half dozen publications. Jim also serves
as an expert witness on brands and trademarks for law firms engaged
in intellectual property litigation.
