The INSPIRATIONAL Leader Assessment

If you want people to do great things, then your leadership style must be inspirational.

Inspirational leaders have a positive attitude, and they can help ordinary people do extraordinary things. Your inspiration becomes contagious, rubbing off on the people you lead. When a leader is not inspiring, people will usually do just enough to get by.  Workers usually have more potential than they show. It’s up to the leader to provide the guidance and inspiration to do better.

Before you can inspire others, you have to inspire yourself. How do you measure up as an inspirational leader?

ASSESSMENT

This questionnaire contains statements that relate to inspirational leadership. Next to each statement, check the square that represents how strongly you feel about the statement by using the following scoring system:

Be honest about your choices as this will help you to consider your strengths and areas that need improvement. If you are not in a formal leadership position, anyone can be a leader, in their workplace or community, try to relate each question to how you see yourself or to actions you have taken in the past.

By reflecting upon your scores for each of the questions, you can determine your stronger and weaker attributes. The maximum score you can receive for each attribute is 5, while the lowest you can receive is 1. Scores in the upper range indicate your inspiration level is strong, while a score in the lower range indicates a weaker level of inspiration.

You should reflect upon the weaker scores, identify opportunities to improve them, and create an action plan that will help you fulfill your objectives.
